Katchafire Puppies

Katchafire Golden Retrievers are purpose bred for health, temperament and versatility. Our puppies are raised as part of our family on our farm, with plenty of care, handling and opportunities to experience the world before they leave us.

Finding the right breeder is an important first step. Take some time to learn about us, meet our dogs and understand how we breed and raise our puppies. If Katchafire feels like the right fit for you, complete our Puppy Enquiries & Application form and tell us a little about yourself, your home and the Golden Retriever you’re hoping to welcome into your life.

Getting to know each other

Once we receive your application, we’ll take the time to read it and get in touch. We’ll want to learn a little more about you, your family and the sort of life you hope to share with a Golden Retriever.

It’s also your chance to get to know us, ask questions and decide whether Katchafire feels like the right fit for you.

Pregnant Rebel mum

Once we have a litter planned, we’ll keep prospective families informed about our breeding plans and likely timing. Breeding dogs is never an exact science — pregnancies need to be confirmed and we won’t know how many puppies we have until they arrive. We’ll keep in touch as things progress and let you know what each stage means for you.

Once the puppies arrive, our focus is on Mum and her new family. Those first weeks are quiet ones — feeding, sleeping, growing and being carefully watched over. As they develop, their world gradually gets bigger, with gentle handling, new experiences and opportunities to learn and explore. Puppy matching usually takes place around seven to eight weeks.

Getting ready for home

As homecoming approaches, we’ll help you prepare for those first days together. Each puppy leaves with their health and registration paperwork, puppy-care information and a goody bag to help them settle in.

The contents vary from litter to litter depending on what is available; puppies travelling by air cannot take the goody bag with them.

And then it’s time to go home. We’ll make sure you have the info you need for those first days together, and we’re always happy to hear how things are going once your puppy has left us. Going home is the end of their time being raised at Katchafire — but certainly not the end of our interest in them. We love seeing our puppies grow into much-loved members of their new families.
